One Year Ago

How can it be, a year has gone by, since the saddest day of my life.
The imminent news that we'd soon say goodbye to our friend, and mother, and wife.
Nothing can describe the heartache,
No words can explain the fear,
At the idea that we'd have to go on
living our lives without her here.
But the Lord stepped in since our lives unraveled,
and supplied us with comfort abound.
He is the giver of my renewed faith,
and this puzzling peace that I've found.
I will miss her each day, and long for her voice
Till the day I'm reunited with her.
But I rest on the knowledge that she knows no pain,
and is basking in all she deserves.
